Traditional company edding Group: “We have become much more digital and faster.”

The edding Group has been using Lanes & Planes since 2019 for its digital business travel management and travel expense accounting. We spoke with Sebastian Kristen, Event, Trade Fair, and Travel Manager at the edding Group, about the collaboration.

Before: Time-consuming booking via a travel agency

Before the introduction of Lanes & Planes, business trips at edding Group were booked through a travel agency. Sebastian describes the process as time-consuming and complicated: employees had to compile the trip and send it to the travel agency, which would then send back suitable proposals.

The costs had to be approved internally, and only then was the trip finally confirmed. In addition, all documents had to be filed in paper form and sent to the responsible travel department. This cost a lot of time, tied up resources, and slowed down the entire process.

Simple Implementation

A new system was needed, and the decision for Lanes & Planes was made quickly. Thanks to the support of the dedicated Customer Support team, the implementation of the digital travel platform went smoothly. The employees of the edding Group received comprehensive training and were introduced to the new system. This facilitated the transition and ensured rapid acceptance.

Now: More efficient processes and satisfied employees

Sebastian travels a lot for work and uses Lanes & Planes several times a week, for example, to book trips, record receipts, or check his connections. He says the entire booking process has become much simpler. Now, he and his colleagues select connections according to their preferences and book their trips directly themselves. Importantly, cost limits have been set, so that the trips always remain within budget.

Travelers also save valuable time on the go: they record their receipts on the go via the app and submit them directly digitally. Sebastian describes this as his favorite feature. This saves him valuable time on travel expense accounting after the business trip. In addition to the travelers themselves, the accounting department also benefits from the digital receipt capture: travel expense accounting and other accounting processes are processed much faster and more efficiently.

The helpful Customer Support from Lanes & Planes provides further added value. The team is very easy to reach and is quickly available for questions and solutions – both for questions about booking and billing, as well as on the go. Sebastian has regular appointments with his support contact person, in which current topics and challenges are discussed and solutions are found together.
