Through the implementation of Google Maps addresses, it's possible to request company names, POIs, train stations, airports etc. precisely by address.

Home, work and many more favourite addresses as a shortcut for departure or destination (store in your user account, check below)

One time-travelers, who aren't regular users or employees of your company get the chance be booked as a guest, e.g. freelancers oder job interviews. The confirmation, including all tickets, will be send straight to the bookers mailbox and can be administered in the booker's Lanes & Planes user account.

While a user with role description “traveler” can only book for himself/herself and fellow travelers, an “admin” or “travel assistant” can also book for other users without traveling himself/herself. A “traveler without right of booking” is allowed to search for trips and to have them approved/booked by the supervisor, but is not allowed to book himself/herself. (roles can be distributed within the company account, see below). Moreover there’s a general distinction between the person who is booking and a passenger at all times.

When booking, all user data and preferences that you registered in your user account are already taken into account, like Bahncard or Miles & More (see also "user account")

Flight, coach, train, rental car.

E.g. Deutsche Bahn there, Flixbus back, Lufthansa there, Easyjet back. Lanes & Planes is by the way also checking, if two one way tickets are cheaper then a roundtrip – which is the case in more than 20%.

No GDS / DCC fee, Light und Saver rates, all rates (so called Fare Families available) incl. contiuous pricing, due to Direct Connect to Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian and Brussels, L&P uses the newest NDC API available, therefore integration of new LHG features can be handled fast.

Extensive range of routes.

Inter- & Multimodal, meaning coverage "How do I get to the airport or from the trainstation to my final destination" individually adaptable platform changing times (e.g. for travelers with carry on luggage only).

Many platforms only offer the cheapest ticket and, best case, a flexible rate at extra charge, while Lanes & Planes covers all rates and cabine classes in one query. Additionally, all fares are shown in a transparant way with icons for luggage, rebooking, cancellation and seat reservation incl./excl.

Flight search can be predefined by Economy class, Premium Economy class, Business class and First class.

Lanes & Planes passes on so called temporary storage of queries, which is technically more advanced and expensive but makes sure that way, that all requestet results and rates are still available.

Direct comparability of all available car rental providers at the selected location incl. differentiation between Lanes & Planes rates and negotiated customer rates.

Lanes & Planes has direct connect to Sixt, so that all Sixt rental car offers can be booked live via the system and with negotiated travel agency rates. You can deposit negotiated company rates here, as well.

In addition to Sixt, Lanes & Planes also offers Hertz, Europca, Avis and Enterprise as another car rental provider for direct booking in the system. Besides public rates, your own negotiated company rates are also available.

Lanes & Planes is a registered travel agency with many more rental car agencies like Sunny Cars, so you can now book there as well, including negotiated company rates.

Only those who have the biggest variety of platforms, direct connections, bed banks, whole sales and wholesale costumer groups will find the best prices as well as the highest availability – this is an advantage especially during trade fair times. You have the choice, if you want to include or exclude rates without shown VAT.

This program, set up exclusively for business clients, falls back to ca. 300.000 so called non-public rates, specially negotiated for business clients by booking.com. All clients of L&P get access to these drastically reduced, exclusive hotel rates.

Lanes & Planes arranged so called non-public rates with big hotel chaines with its hotel parter for an exclusiv access to these special rates for our customers.

If you have certain negotiated hotel rates within your company, you can deposit those in Lanes & Planes.

Hotels preferred by the company can be saved and prioritized on result page.

To show favored hotels directly as favourites, users can mark them as favourites.

To see at a glance if there's a trade fair or big event going on at the time of your booking request that influence the availability and prices.

Due to an accuarte location search of Lanes & Planes, hotels can be picked in immediate aproximity to your destination.

Lanes & Planes integrates airbnb results directly into it hotel search and is a registered travel agent with AirBnB, so that Lanes & Planes can book, bill and invoice Airbnb for their travelers, too

With our One-Stop-Shopping solution, you can chose and combine all travel services individually, check the shopping cart and finish the booking straight away.

The person booking will be warned immediately during check-out if the chosen prices breach the travel guidelines of the traveler. It's also shown, what service breaches the guidelines and to what extent.

With our graphic seat choice the favourite seat on the plane can be chosen or bought.

The preferred seat for Deutsche Bahn bookings can be selected through a graphical seat selection.

To make it easier for accounting while finishing your booking, cost centers (via drop down), cost units (via drop down), reference numbers (as free text), reason for traveling as well as invoice profiles (correct invoice adress) can be added. Multiple Cost Centers can be used per Booking by dividing the cost center per %.

To finish the booking there's no need to add a credit card (neither of the company nor of the user) or any other means of payment. The payment of all booked travel services (always including assumption of costs) is settled with the company, via direct debit or collective payment.

Straight during booking, all travel services can be added directly as appointment in Outlook or any other sort of calender.

With booking you immediately get all tickets & hotel vochers (including assumption of costs) as a download. The documents are being deposited straight away into the user account of all people booking and/or travling and are therefore visible in the Lanes & Planes app. In addition the tickets and hotel voucher get sent via email as well to booker and traveler(s).

The Lanes & Planes app is available for Iphone and Android and serves next to search & booking also as a mobile travel companion as well as a full-stack travel expense reporting tool.

Within the Lanes & Planes app you can search the same way you search and book online.

Take a look at all your upcoming trips in the overview and exact flight- and changing times, trip schedule, as well as hotel numbers.

This means, all travelers can access all tickets & vouchers within the app, also offline! Lanes & Planes is also accredited by Deutsche Bahn, so that conductors accept your mobile ticket within the app. It is also possible to transfer the ticket to the DB Navigator app by pressing a button.

Travelers don't need to check in themselves. Via the Lanes & Planes check in service, travelers always get their favourite seat (if available) and the boarding pass straight to the app (and via email).

In the Lanes & Planes app, travellers can view the current status of their flight live, including the terminal, gate, baggage carousel, aircraft type and possible delays. In case of changes, users are informed via notification.

Since it can get hectic for travelers, especially on the road, Lanes & Planes app provides several option to cancel or change a reservation on the go.

Lanes & Planes is a fully-fledged travel expense solution – especially as an app, since every traveler can already digitally scan and hand in their expenses via mobile phone camera on the go.

Meal allowance / Per diem for employees of German and Austrian companies can be created in full (incl. border crossing) in the APP. Users can thus have their entire trip to several countries automatically calculated, edited and directly submitted in one expense report while still on the road.

Your employees can use Lanes & Planes as a fully-fledged travel expense allowance tool, even without existing trip. With this, day trips, taxi receipts of your hometown or even printing paper can be stored within expense reports.

Our bulit-in OCR scanner can detect various data of your scanned receipt photop and therefore helps you with a speedy receipt creation.

Receipt photos can be stored within the App for later receipt creation.

Travelers can finalize their booking after having photo-scanned all receipts and expenses already on the go – this means handing in everything for approval with your supervisor or accounting.

Thanks to coloured markers in red, orange and green, users can always see the current approval status of each booking, separated by manager and accountant approval.

The use of password managers of all kinds (e.g. 1Password, Apple Keychain or the password manager from Google) is supported.

In the log-in area the user can search, see and administrate all future-, past- and finished trips. This is valid for all self-booked trips as well as for the ones booked by another person for the traveler, or where the traveler is just a co-traveler.

Through the direct connection, the user can cancel all train trips by only one click himself/herself (previous info on charges come up). Immediately after this, a credit memo is generated.

Cancellations or changes of reservation of flights follow the same rules as cancellation of trains or hotels. Depending on the airline (not valid for Lufthansa Group and Eurowings due to an automatic cancel and refund process), travel agent support is need, which is not disturbing for the user as such, since here, administration can be done completely within the user section.

Within the user section, a number of preferences can be set: languages, locations as favourites for your search, shuttle- and transfer preferences, favourite means of transportation, hotel filter, seat reservations for trains and seat preferences for check-in flights.

German, English, Spanish, French

Deposition of the most popular discount tickets for trains (BahnCard, general-abo, half-tax etc.) up to bonus & frequent flyer programs such as Miles & More and Hilton Honors Club so that these discounts get taken into account price wise or during accounting.

Besides preferences you can also decide, if your ticket email should also go into another private mailbox, data for your emergency contact and accordingly data required for booking like home address or date of birth. Moreover you can store passport data if travelers travel internationally, so that they can directly be used for booking or check-in.

It’s most important for Lanes.& Planes to be an open system that also allows for externally booked trips to be created and administered. e.g. hotel – and flight bookings that have already been booked before the Lanes & Planes installment – those trips can be set up as external trips and even reimbursed via our receipt management.

Lanes & Planes is a fully-fledged travel expense solution – including web and mobile app, with which travelers can add their receipts (taxi, parking, public transport, meal allowance, mileage allowance) to an existing trip. Thanks to the flexible "items"-logic, users can create receipts with multiple items with varying VAT-rates and/or varying categories/ledger accounts. Mileage allowances can be created with multiple stops.

After the user added all expenses and invoices to his trip via web or app, he/she can finalize the trip and submit it to the assigned manager or accountant. In this moment the travel expense report is frozen up until the manager either declines or approves and with this finalizes the trip and its handed over to accounting.

Users can look at their own trips on an interactive map and see Travel warnings, in case any travel warnings were detected

Optionally, it can be specified that the user receives reminder emails if he has forgotten to submit his booking/expense report.

Companies can specify whether they would like to use an interactive tour through our solution. Every new user is created with this tour by default and can activate or deactivate it in their personal profile.

In user administration, admins (or equivalent roles) can access and administrate all bookings. They have the same feature range as in the user account itself.

In user administration, admina can get a complete view of all created users by downloading a user csv. This enables a direct comparison of the data between the customer's system and our system. In this user csv, all users are listed, whether deactivated or as guest users.

Admins can assign one or more roles to users at the same time. (Traveller without booking rights, Traveller, Travel Assistant, Manager, Accountant, Administrator).

We offer you the option of connecting your user database to our system via an ExtAPI. This allows you to automatically create user accounts in Lanes & Planes for your new employees and keep the user data in sync. It is also possible to connect Microsoft Active Directory (AAD) or Personio to our system via API. Lanes & Planes may automatically process user data from these systems.

With big companies we are happy to upload all users including their profile data and travel guidelines for you.

After the user submits the booking or expense report, the assigned manager gets a notification via email that a booking is due for approval. In a dedicated manager approval view, the manager sees the complete trip, potential breaches of the individual travel guidelines of the employee as well as the reasoning. Moreover he also sees all expenses and receipts. The manager can now either dispute, including a comment, then the booking/expense report is open again and the booker gets notified via email, or approve the trip/expense report.

You can set several booking control levels per user. One may require a pre-journey allowance approval from a manager. The user can then only book after the manager granted the allowance request for the trip.

Lanes & Planes doesn’t only record bookings but also search results at the time of the search request. Especially for pre-journey allowance requests this is a vital feature – the manager can find out with one click which travel options were available at the time of the employee's request.

Due to the analysis feature of Lanes & Planes you get full transparency over all expenses and can sort and filter them by diverse criteria, such as user, cost center, supplier, time frame etc. If you want to see more analytics and reportings, you can download all data as excel file.

If your company should have negotiated contracts with hotels, then they can be stored in the company account. This is also valid for airlines and their business client programs like Eurowings Dynamic Flex, Lufthansa Group Corporate Fares or Lufthansa PartnerPlusBenefits. Moreover, we can store and take into account your contract numbers for Sixt, Europcar, Avis and Sunny Cars.

Define individual travel guidelines for groups and define correspondent users. With this all travel services can be set in detail: hotel, (price per night, stars, per continent/country/city, with rules and exceptions), flight (long-, medium haul, short distance, eco/premium/business/first, max. price per direction), train (2nd./1st class, max price per direction). Your rules are automatically being checked (per case and user) and you define the rules for breaches like obligatory, individual reasons, notifications of the supervisor etc.

Admins have access to an interactive travel map on which the travel locations of all users of that company are displayed as pins. Admins can access travellers' bookings directly via the map. The latest travel warnings from the German Federal Foreign Office are also displayed on this page.

This is of special interest, since many suppliers on the market don't add VAT on their invoices for their travel services (e.g. 0%). This way the customer doesn't get the chance to get the tax refunded and pays depending on travel service e.g. in Germany 7 - 19% too much.

For hotels abroad local VAT with a designated sales tax ID of the individual country on the invoice. (Exception Prepaid rates)

The system automatically calculates on the legal basis of 0.42 EUR/km and 0.05 EUR/km per passenger. Users can enter the names of passengers with themileage allowance record.

For companies based in Switzerland, the applicable regulations and rates of CHF 0.70/km are applied.

To give accounting the chance to have all billing documents and expense document past the trip at the same place, there's an extra section with reliant filter features and download options.

Organization-specific expense ledger accounts can be created per invoice profile. This flexibility allows companies to decide which ledger accounts/expense categories are needed for their organization/invoice profile. Companies can furthermore decide, if a certain ledger account choice shall trigger a question to be answered by the user during receipt creation.

To simplify and accelerate the reimbursement for employees and for accounting, we offer a section with all private expenses that have been approved by the manager, divided by users and people who payed.

The system points the user to duplicates, both during the expense creation/modification process and during the expense reconciliation check of the submitted expenses. Travelers and accountants then have the option of deleting the duplicate expenses or confirming the accuracy of the similar expenses before completing the travel expense check.

Not all billing documents of a trip can be created right afterwards. Especially hotel-, rental car or airbnb billing documents often get billed after the trip. To make it easier for accounting so see which billing documents have already been created or billed, you can have all open billing documents displayed in a seperate window and download it as a CSV.

For every billing document, the payment status will be displayed.

Documents (expenses and billing documents) can be downloaded as a collective download as a ZIP-file. This way you can either archive them yourself or with Beleg2Buchung upload them to DATEV or other ERP systems.

During accounting onboarding we can provide an allocation that’s conform with your ERP-system. With this, all receipts can get transferred directly without further administration on your side. Lanes & Planes offers this already for a variety of systems, including DATEV (with our Beleg2Buchung), SAP, Navision or Diamant Software. The files will be sent to your appointed email address.

The accountant can comment single bookings using the comment feature and also put a status (e.g. “booked”).

Users can be assigned to one or more cost centers and cost units, which they can use to book or hand in expenses. By doing this we guarantee that the user can only book in his cost centers and cost units and while also giving the option to set up if mentioning a cost center or cost unit is always mandatory for this user. This also applies for references (free text) and purpose of trip. These statements are a central theme for all transactions, from booking to invoicing up to billing and is always accessible for the accountant in the accountant overview.

With the help of invoice profiles you can set up subcompanies or differing invoice addresses for VAT-identification or different sales tax IDs. Analog to cost centers you can assign invoice profiles, so that users can only pick assigned invoice profiles. More over, per invoice profile you can set up different languages for invoicing, different accounting emails as well as diffente bank details for payment

Even if the expense report has been approved by the manager, an accountant check is needed to ensure that the details have also been made correctly for tax purposes. For this reason, the accountant has his own dedicated reconciliation overview in order to be able to clearly compare all the receipt photos with the user's details and to check these factually and correct them if necessary. Accountants can approve or dispute receipts.
